My biggest inspiration is my mother.

ABOUT US
I'm Kamilat a black Muslim woman who grew up in London. I was born in Nigeria, Lagos.
I am currently living in Edinburgh, Scotland. I started making clothes at 18 years old for myself when going to parties, weddings, events with my friends. I worked with my mother who loved connecting with people through Art and these things inspired me to study Fashion at university in Epsom, Surrey.
I remember assisting my mothet in making a beautiful dress, by holding a piece of fabric as she cuts through it. I listened to her intently while she used the sewing machine, and closely observed her sketch and prepare various outfits for a collection exhibited in London, I had so much to learn.
So, while at university, I put the experience I learnt into my studies and did pop up events while studying. My mother supported me with this. I felt that even though I am designing, how do real people feel about what I am creating..and how can I marry what I leant at university with the real world? How practical are all my designs? How can elegance be inclusive of women who are doing their absolute best even if they are a nursing mum.
I decided elegance can still be reachable for her.
Over the years, I have continued to be inspired by women who want to wear clothing that includes and considers them.
I wanted to bring easy and practical clothing together in a way that is easy to use from the time of pregnancy and even after giving birth at a very important and vulnerable time. Wearing clothing that was easy on the body and made the experience so much easier makes the journey a less stressful one.
I am blessed to be part of the journey of women who experience staying true to what they love to wear and provides a really beautiful experience with being a mothet who loves and continues to design, make and bring my work to people who just want to know more.
